Adults need to explore the various sites to decide the
appropriateness for the child/children that are using them. Whereas
these sites have been ensured as Kidsafe, they are not always
individually appropriate for every child.

has a picture based environment that hyperlinks to kid-friendly
web sites. Topics of sites include nature, environment, animals,
pets, cultures, people, hobbies and many more. There are games and
activities available at this site. The web sites are screened by
people who are ensuring that these sites are safe and of interest
to children.

Funschool

- Funschool is a web site with free interactive educational
software for kids from preschool-sixth grade. Lots of choices for
each age level. It does take a few minutes to load the chosen
activity. As it is loading, you can watch spiralgraphs while the
school bus moves from left to right. Once the bus reaches the
right side, the spiralgraphs disappear and the activity chosen
appears. The "Where is this state?" activity in the 1st grade
section would be challenging for first graders, in my opinion, but
certainly could be educational and fun for older elementary
children. Have fun exploring this site.
